I do not at all enjoy painting them.
so I borrowed a ladder and am making progress. the book club is meeting here Sunday so there's a deadline. ben t. is away all next week so that's when it would make sense to get the room he's moving into painted. but I'm tired of paint in 95 degree weather.
today's schedule is a joke for painting: 2 meetings on campus during the morning. pick-up the boys from weight training at noon (thanks almond joy for driving them over!), ortho for ben t. at 3. baseball for ben t. at 5.
when do I start the walls? I'm almost finished with the edges of the ceiling. and why did I go up the stairs? it's just a bit of ceiling going down the hallway.
it will be nice. eventually. did I mention the wood floor in the living room? that's August.
I'll never forget one summer when my mom did the floors in our former lake cabin - turned house in Orono. Before we moved in, someone had sanded them down so far that we coudn't use a mechanical sander. She did the floors one section at a time with chemical stripper -- in pretty warm temps -- She lost about 40 pounds, because she got a bit high from the fumes and didn't eat...
Lesson to learn - make sure you have really good ventilation in August.
