I wish I knew what to do with living space. just can't seem to get it right. I'm trying to get moving on painting the living room before I leave for 10 days of conferences. got the sofa out of the basement, got the living room sofa to the basement. but we can't figure out what functions do we want where?
should the piano go upstairs in the living room/dining room? should it be in the basement? (actually the tuner said that is a good option, not a bad one). should it be up another half flight of stairs in the room-to-be-the-study later this summer?
and where does one put a tv? my sister was surprised to find out the tv in the living room actually doesn't function as a tv, but works as a dvd player or game screen. she was even more surprised on second look to see that it was their old tv from when they lived in Paris. we got it from them when we moved here 10 years ago and had vcr issues with european tapes. and as ben t. said, you get used to the right side of the screen being a bit green. (we were watching the first Indiana Jones).
so obviously tv in living room has not been a priority. I like it in the basement for the kids and up in our room for the adult who likes tv, not me. maybe that's it, too. no, we don't need it in the living room. so the piano could be there. but maybe up in the study is even better?
I now have a huge gap in the living room where the no-sofa is. I guess I'm looking for a small one. don't like the stuffed in feeling when the room fills up. got to get rid of more stuff. when I finish painting, I hold the clutter back for a long time.
I think a small red leather sofa from craigslist would be good.
we'll see.
(meanwhile, I have to get to painting, more quizzes, reading essays from the ws class and getting ready for the children's lit assignments, prepare two presentations for two conferences and somehow do something as the representative of this region to the national conference. argh. I think I need more hammock time).
