(inspired by philosophy factory's numbers)
Yes, there are still 24 enrolled, but 12 have become infrequent special guests. They really don't know what's going on. Occasionally I'll get a loose Works Cited page in the dropbox that has nothing to do with any assignment in this class. Mostly they're gone.
The final 12:
1. has all but completed a BA at a more expensive school but needed comp I. He knows what's going on.
2. his buddy is struggling. he keeps using the strategies he learned well in the pre-college level writing classes and seems to find any new ideas too much or rejects them as wrong, since he already got the right information last semester.
3. she's figured out these two come to class regularly and can help keep her on track. She's right.
4. a quiet member of their team. He doesn't come every day, but he's made the connections and is keeping up.
5 and 6. they write on the same purple paper and sit together. I'm not sure which one is which (I'm kidding. I do know).
7. high school student bored out of her mind. turns in excellent work.
8. returning woman who keeps everyone focused. funny about her failings. organized.
9. new immigrant. can't seem to get there on time. smart. misses too many clues in that first 15 minutes of class.
10. lost soul. yes, she said she was completely confused today. I'm guessing she hasn't read the text or the assignment sheet.
11. really smart guy in the back row. comes every day. never misses an assignment. sort of watches the show.
12. really smart guy in the front row. comes every day. never misses an assignment. doesn't say a word.
and that is my team for the morning.
Did you notice I was inspired by this post? Thanks.
